Joining Ralph and Ricky Lauren and their children, Andrew, David and Dylan, were Polo board members Arnold Aronson, Frank Bennack, Joel Fleishman and Dr. Joyce Brown, as well as executives Roger Farah, Jerry Lauren, Doug Williams, Bette-Ann Gwathmey and Buffy Birrittella. Chanel Inc.’s Arie Koppelman, Muffie Potter Aston, Karen LeFrak and Carol Petrie also braved the un-springlike weather.

Lauren was recognized for his firm’s support of cancer charities, including the Nina Hyde Center at Georgetown University and Fashion Targets Breast Cancer.

Accepting the award, Lauren thanked the cancer center and the physicians and said, “I am here to honor all of you. You are the ones who are making the difference, saving lives and preventing cancer.”

The gala’s floral centerpieces will be used as the first plantings at the Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention, which opens May 1 in Harlem.
