HIP-HOP HAIR: Tiggle’s House of Style, a Los Angeles-based hair salon, is producing its first Hip Hop Hair and Fashion Show on Sept. 1 at the Riverside Convention Center, a one-day event organizers plan to hold annually. An exposition consisting of roughly 20 vendors including Vibrant Violet will kick things off at 9:30 a.m., followed by a hair and fashion show featuring hip-hop hairstyles, fashion and music. The show, which is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., will spotlight about 18 stylists, who will be judged on content, performance, originality and overall style. “This is an opportunity for small salons to come out and show their talents and build some publicity for their business,” said Madalene Tiggle-Lockhart, owner of Paramount, Calif.-based Tiggle’s, the event’s principal sponsor. BET Comic View’s Cat Daddy D will emcee the show, which will also feature live entertainment, including R&B performers.
