NEW YORK -- David Snyde had been named president of The Vera Cos.

He succeeds Sol Shulman, who was appointed chairman of the scarf manufacturer, a new post.

Snyde, who was vice president of special projects, will continue to oversee such projects.

In addition, Kenneth Krieger, who was vice president and national sales manager, has been named executive vice president, a post that has been vacant for almost two years. His previous responsibilities will be absorbed into his new post.

The Vera Cos., a division of Salant Corp., produces the Vera collection of scarves and holds the scarf licenses for Perry Ellis, Perry Ellis America and Save the Children. Most recently, the firm began producing "Peanuts" characters scarves under license.

It had also been the licensee for Anne Klein for 18 years, but that relationship ended this month.
