“Offering good design to a wider audience.” Calvin Klein creative director Kevin Carrigan says that’s his motto, and judging from his fall presentation on Friday, he’s right on track. The austere yet accessible better collection showcased lots of sportswear with geometric elements, such as a relaxed funnel neck on a coat, but also featured softer spots like a full-skirted dress. At Calvin Klein Jeans, it was back to boot-cut shapes as well as skinny versions. And after last season’s soft launch of performance wear, Carrigan is ready to take the sporty stuff front and center, with sleek silhouettes that offer active women function and style.
