NEW YORK — Peter Som will present his spring collection at the Bryant Park tents as the season’s featured designer with a sponsorship by Mercedes-Benz.
As part of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the automotive company has financed the runway show for one designer for the past two seasons, bringing Narciso Rodriguez to the venue in September 2002 and Badgley Mischka there last February. For the Sept. 12-19 edition, marking the 10th anniversary of the shows in Bryant Park, Som was selected to receive the sponsorship for his show on Sept. 16 at noon, said a spokeswoman for Mercedes-Benz, noting the company looks for candidates who need assistance, are considered rising talents and whose designs relate well to the Mercedes aesthetic.
