Infectiously fun — that’s the spirit behind the clothes chez Rykiel, and this season the designer did not disappoint.
Her models poured out onto the glittering gold runway with a giddy attitude and clothes to match, such as chiffon dresses with peekaboo ribbon-shaped cutouts or a pant-jumper belted with a knitted floral sash. There was even glitzy Jazz Age headgear that incorporated, at times, a sporty visor.
But she delivered plenty of the house signatures as well: ruffled frocks, striped two-tone numbers and wonderfully cozy knitwear.
And, oh, the finale: It was pure Rykiel tongue-in-cheek chic — a rainbow-colored lineup of strapless minis, all printed with a different saucy and beguiling face.
