SUITING UP: This Saturday, 40 models will be vying to represent the U.S. in the international finals of the Elite Model search.
During the national finals at the Royal Palm Resort in Miami, they will be wearing La Blanca by Rod Beattie swimwear, a line produced by Apparel Ventures.
Beattie, who will be in Miami for this weekend’s annual swimwear trade show, will serve as a judge. Editors from magazines such as Jane and Lucky will also lend their eyes to the jury, selecting a handful of finalists to compete in next month’s international event in Tunisia.
SPEEDO’S SHUFFLE: Michelle Mohlere has rejoined Speedo/Authentic Fitness as vice president of women’s merchandising. She is based at the Los Angeles office and reports to Susan Guensch, president.
Before leaving the company two years ago to work as an independent consultant, Mohlere held various designer and merchandising jobs at Authentic Fitness for 12 years.
Speedo also said Wednesday that Mike Nicklas has been promoted to senior vice president of department store sales, Stu Isaac to senior vice president of team sales and sports marketing, Craig Brommers to vice president of marketing and Maricel Castro to director of women’s merchandising.
Nicklas and Isaac report to Tim Tate, who is executive vice president of sales. Brommers, Allen and Castro report to Guensch.
