“It’s all about the new pretty,” said Lisa Axelson, Ann Taylor’s senior vice president of design, of the company’s spring collection. What she meant by that was clean, modern shapes and bold, optimistic tones. A group of blush looks, including a nice matte jersey suit and a lace sheath with a sheer, draped panel, were punctuated by bright neon pink accessories. Then Axelson let the real color — hot pink, neon yellow and cobalt blue — run wild on simple, classic sportswear.
