“Weather” was the word backstage at the Tracy Reese show Sunday afternoon.
“It’s all about a stormy eye,” said makeup artist Mally Roncal, who applied shades from her eponymous color cosmetics collection. “There are many different, thin layers of shimmery [eye] shadow — plums, lilacs and purples.” A pink shimmer stain was applied above the brow and carried down to the top of the cheekbone and lips were stained plum. “Tracy’s collection was inspired by the power of nature and the entire eye area is very powerful,” Roncal remarked.
Hairstylist Edris Nicholls, who worked on behalf of FHI, also referenced Mother Nature. “We’re doing a windswept feel,” she said. The hairstyle, which had a side part that went from the forehead to the nape of the neck, featured textured, wavy tresses that flowed over the shoulders. To create the look, Nicholls applied a generous amount of Hot Sauce styling cream by the FHI Heat brand, twisted hair up into buns on either side, then released them, creating waves, which were pinned in place to finish off the ’do.
