NEW YORK — Suzy Stewart has joined DHR International’s retail practice, where she will head up executive search for the firm’s fashion apparel division.

Stewart will report to Frank Spencer, the global head of the retail practice and a member of the DHR board.

DHR International, established in 1989, is considered among the five largest search firms in the nation. Retail and fashion clients have included Aeropostale, Bebe, Cole Haan, Gap, Coach, Hot Topic, Kohl’s, Liz Claiborne and Nike.

Stewart, formerly withsearch firm Korn/Ferry International, has worked on senior-level placements for specialty and department stores, mass merchants, multichannel marketing, wholesale manufacturing, private label product development and international sourcing. Among the firms she recently conducted searches for are Ann Taylor Loft and Liz Claiborne.

Stewart’s first career was in retailing, where she held senior and merchandising positions and served on the executive committee at Bloomingdale’s, as well as at Lord & Taylor, Ann Taylor and T. Edwards. Building upon her contacts, she began in executive search when she joined Korn/Ferry in 1997. Her specialties include merchandising, marketing, product development sourcing, finance, operations, stores, business development and manufacturing.
