GETTING TOGETHER: Première Vision, the fabric fair, and Expofil, the French yarn fair, are tying the knot. Management of the two firms approved a merger, according to a statement released last week. The combined company is called PVE.

Association Première Vision is PVE’s leading stockholder.

PVE’s board of directors includes weavers and spinners and is presided over by Daniel Faure, president and director general. Faure had been president of Première Vision. Philippe Pasquet, who was secretary general of Expofil, will be more specifically in charge of the development of PVE.

While the two shows merge operationally, PVE intends for each to maintain its identity and specificity. The shows will continue to be managed by their respective product teams.

“This operation, which brings together the two leading salons in the two principle textile industries, should make it possible to strengthen the synergies already in place between these two shows,” the companies said in the statement.
