Target today said it will launch on Nov. 16, a limited-edition girls’ collection inspired by the musical “Annie.”

In this case, the latest version of the beloved story is a contemporized film due in theaters on Dec. 19. It features Jamie Foxx as business tycoon and mayoral candidate Benjamin Stacks, Quvenzhané Wallis as Annie, Rose Byrne as Stacks’ assistant, Bobby Cannavale as an aggressive political adviser and Cameron Diaz as a slatternly Miss Hannigan. The film was produced by Jay Z and Will Smith and directed by Will Gluck.

Target partnered with “Annie” costume designer Renee Ehrlich Kalfus, a 20-year veteran of films such as “Cider House Rules” and “Friends With Benefits.” Ehrlich Kalfus said ideas for the 25-piece collection of apparel and accessories came directly from the designs she created for the movie, such as a jeans jacket. The line will be available at all Target stores in the U.S. and on target.com.

The collection features the iconic red dress and heart-shaped locket the Annie character wears, as well as pieces with details such as patchwork, embroidery, buttons and tulle. There’s even a DIY kit for budding designers.

Most items are priced less than $30.

“Target is excited to bring guests a piece of the ‘Annie’ movie magic, just in time for the holiday season,” said Stacia Andersen, senior vice president of apparel and accessories at Target Corp. “The collection’s mix-and-match theme will inspire girls to express themselves by creating a look all their own.”
