LONDON — Ready-to-wear designer Alice Temperley has chosen New York as the location for her first store. Set to open by Christmas, the shop apparently will be somewhat of a mix of cultures. “It’s going to look very antique and quite Parisian,” she said. “But very, very London.” The 4,800-square-foot space is on the corner of Mercer and Broome Streets and will be furnished with vintage furniture from Italy and France — keeping in tune with its romantic columns, tall windows and 16-foot ceilings, the designer said. Besides her rtw — known for its delicate sequined chiffon and silk tops and cashmere knits — there will be luggage designed by British model Laura Bailey and a collection of shoes designed by some of her friends, though Temperley wouldn’t say which. Themed “Breakfast at Temperley’s,” shopping events will take place at the store every six weeks. In London, the label is stocked at Harrods, Liberty’s, Selfridges and Matches, and is available at the Temperley studio in Notting Hill.
