If beauty trends really are hatched backstage, the cosmetics and hair companies will be tickled pink — and green and copper and lilac — with what Paris has been sending down the runways. There’s been something for everyone, from minimalist to drag queen.

Makeup genius Pat McGrath created not one but four different Dietrichs at Dior. And while they’re too extreme to translate to real life, a true femme-fatale type can certainly adapt the smoky eye and blood-red bow lips.

At Rochas, James Caliardos glossed eyelids in soft pink or seafoam green, and added shimmery cheeks and cool pale lips. Hairstylist Odile Gilbert matched the ethereal mood, pinning hair in soft swirls, then spraying them with a peach clay-and-water mix that provided an angelic effect and a conditioning treatment.

The most realistic, however, were the stunners at Costume National, where Max Delorme compared his peach, lilac and deep green shimmery eyelids to a nascent butterfly. And Stephan L’Ancien’s wavy ode to Jerry Hall was a most positive endorsement for a long-hair comeback.
