Escada’s design director Brian Rennier seems to have travel on his mind. In the collection’s informal spring presentation, he covered three warm-weather locales. The first group was a Spanish odyssey — to Ibiza, in particular — with macramé-trimmed tops, tucked skirts with lace and beaded-floral embroidery and a white denim jacket featuring handsewn flowers. He also brought in his love of tattoo-like prints, working traditional hearts and twining flowers on colorful jeans, fitted silk dresses and cool beaded bras. Next, it was off to the Riviera with navy-and-white nautical looks and ruffles and tiers. But it was the Palm Beach segment that was the prettiest — tweed jackets, beaded floral skirts and striped camis and skirts, all in Easter colors. Rennier also presented a smattering of looks for Escada Sport. He’s moving the line in a new direction, adding more luxury items such as a rich suede pantsuit and a knee-length tomato-red coat.

"It's really hard sometimes. I think I have a reputation for being really tough and aggressive and pushy but I really am a very shy person who wants to be liked, and that's the conflict constantly. There's something that takes hold - I want people to like me, I don't want to be mean - but if I see something that just cries out to be answered, I go for it," says renowned NBC News correspondent Andrea Mitchell.
