New York collections aren't over and some of the season's most celeb-heavy shows have yet to take place (i.e., Calvin Klein, Zac Posen and Marc Jacobs). Still, contenders for this week's MVP (Most Visible Player) Award have already emerged. Leading the pack is the indefatigable Sophia Bush, who, at press time, has sat front row at a whopping seven shows and made a cameo at the Tory Burch presentation. Trailing not far behind the CW actress are Brittany Murphy (with husband Simon Monjack in tow), Amy Smart, Rihanna, the interchangeable "Gossip Girls" and the cast of the "Lipstick Jungle."

Of course, sitting pretty for the paparazzi and promoting oneself isn't as easy as it appears. Most of these starlets make daily multiple wardrobe changes according to whichever designer they're there to support. Brooke Shields even carries pantyhose in her purse and has an assistant following behind her with a "bag o' clothes," as she says. Her co-stars, she noted at the J.Mendel show Tuesday, aren't as enthusiastic as she is about dressing on the fly. But as a seasoned fashion pro, Shields knows how to play the game. "I tell them, 'You get to look fabulous twice,'" she says, "and you get two photo opportunities."
