Auckland, New Zealand, is famous for its “four seasons in a day”weather, even when that season happens to be spring. The city has beenliving up to its rep starting with New Zealand Fashion Week in lateSeptember in the old America’s Cup boat sheds down on the ViaductHarbour. Sunny one minute and pouring the next was the way one visitingdesigner described the days. A few blocks uptown from the show venues, the Vulcan Lane precinct is the city’s year-round indie fashion hub, lined with boutiques, pubs, noodle bars, hipsters and hordes of Asianstudents. They’re covering up in trench and duffle coats and leatherbomber jackets — the last seen on almost every corner, usually teamedwith skinny jeans or opaque black tights, Ugg boots, sneakers andsupersized scarves.
Alberta Ferretti's "Rainbow Week" sweaters are back. The designer closed her #MFW show with a few day-of-the-week sweaters, which first debuted on the catwalk last January as part of the pre-fall 2017 collection. #wwdfashion (📷: @delphineachard)
