East London’s Brick Lane attracts a young crowd that’s drawn to the local bars, cafes, and the nearby Spitalfields Market, which offers vintage finds. This gritty neighborhood — where Jack the Ripper once stalked his victims — today attracts hordes of young hipsters, designers such as Giles Deacon, whose studio is in a former brewery, and an edgy, artsy crowd. On a recent sunny day, they were out in force in their bright colors, drainpipe jeans, leather brogues and satchels.
