When T-shirt designers and graffiti artists like Dethkills Collective hold an art opening in Los Angeles’ Chinatown, you can be sure that young Angelenos will represent with their gritty, eclectic style. At POVevolving Gallery’s recent party for Dethkills, young women showed off their gams in short shorts, minidresses and leggings, while layering loose, drapey knits and cropped jackets on top to warm themselves from the evening’s chill. Stripes and plaids suited the autumnal season, and the floral prints and lace evoked the Nineties’ grunge trend that’s making a comeback. Many of the scruffy men looked as if they had just rolled out of bed in their skater clothes. Fedoras and caps were the perfect accessories to go with bedhead.
