The youngsters of Paris are fighting the unusually cold weather by piling on layers of casual clothes — or “accumulating,” as the French call it — rather than wearing one big bulky winter coat. Military parkas and leather bombers are popular, often paired with jeans, miniskirts and lots of stripes. But it’s the stop-the-chill accessories that stand out in this relaxed approach: large scarves rolled heavily around the neck, the occasional hat and mittens and distressed leather boots or worn-in sneakers.
