NEW YORK — It's a short trip this resort season from ancient Rome at Vera Wang to the jet-set Seventies of Marc Jacobs. Jacobs gave his signature collection a Seventies flavor in shades and shapes, while at Marc by Marc Jacobs, the look of that decade got an airline-stewardess spin. Meanwhile, Vera Wang visited the Rome of the Caesars for a gentle, languid collection. "Same city, different time," Wang said as she presented her contemporary-priced Vera Wang Lavender Label, inspired by Brigitte Bardot in Jean-Luc Godard's 1963 film, "Contempt."
