Could Andrea Incontri be tapped creative director of both the men’s and women’s Tod’s collections? According to market sources, Tod’s will expand Incontri’s job description following the exit of Alessandra Facchinetti.

Tod’s did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Italian luxury group appointed Incontri as men’s wear creative director with a focus on ready-to-wear in June 2014 as chairman and chief executive officer Diego Della Valle planned to expand the brand’s men’s division with a comprehensive collection tapping into the category’s growth potential.

Facchinetti was creative director of the brand’s women’s division and her exit was revealed Thursday. Her last collection was for fall, as reported.

An architecture graduate from the Politecnico di Milano, Incontri is a representative of the city’s new guard of designers. Passionate about the study of shapes and silhouettes, the designer launched his namesake brand in 2009, and won the men’s edition of the “Who Is on Next?” talent search in 2010 in the accessories category. The designer quickly extended his label to men’s wear, delivering collections with a strong attention to detail and use of high-end materials.
In 2012, Incontri added a women’s collection, which made its debut as part of the Italian Fashion Chamber’s official fashion week schedule in February 2013.

Tod’s is the leading brand under the Tod’s SpA Group, which includes Hogan, Fay and Roger Vivier and is publicly listed on the Italian Stock Exchange.
