NEW YORK — Tommy Hilfiger Corp. is bringing its men’s furnishings business in-house under the Tommy Hilfiger Men’s Underwear and Loungewear moniker.

The men’s underwear business reverted to the firm on June 1, when Jockey International’s license for the label expired.

Russell-Newman Inc. has held the license for men’s robes, sleepwear and loungewear since 1994 and for women’s robes, sleepwear and loungewear since 1998. Russell-Newman continues to manufacture and market the women’s classifications under license.

Hilfiger’s women’s intimate apparel has been produced and marketed by Bestform Inc., a unit of VF Corp., since 2000.

The new unit will be managed by Michael Spillane in addition to his duties as president of children’s wear at the firm. Anthony Pennetti will become vice president of sales for the division.

Spillane said in a statement, “We are very excited to bring our men’s underwear and loungewear under one roof and market underwear, robes and sleepwear as complementary components.”

Hilfiger’s licensing revenues amounted to $62.7 million in the fiscal year ended March 31, despite the integration of TH Europe, previously a licensee, into the company’s wholesale operations beginning in 2001.
