BOYCE TO U.S.?: Reports are circulating in the market that Kevin Boyce, president and chief executive officer of Unilever Canada, will be moving to the U.S. to assume the role vacated by Paulanne Mancuso, the former president and chief executive of Unilever Cosmetics International. Mancuso exited the position earlier this month and until a successor is named, Charles Strauss, business group president, is overseeing UCI business. A Unilever spokesperson declined to comment, saying the company doesn’t comment on rumors.
NEW AT CHANEL: Catherine Kratchman has joined Chanel as director of treatment marketing. In this position, she will help to build Chanel’s Precision treatment business. Most recently, she was marketing director at Origins. She will report to Elizabeth Mankin, vice president of beauté marketing for Chanel.
VODIANOVA IS "WORTH IT": L’Oréal signed international model Natalia Vodianova as spokesperson for the company and its brands in an exclusive worldwide contract. Her beauty and personality make her the perfect embodiment of L’Oréal’s famous phrase, “Because I’m worth it,” said Carol J. Hamilton, president of the L’Oréal Paris Brand Division of L’Oréal USA Inc. Vodianova’s first advertisement for L’Oréal Colour Juice Lipcolor debuts in July.
BUMBLE BOUNDS: Bumble and bumble is proceeding with a plan to consolidate and move its corporate offices — as well as open its second Manhattan salon — in the Meatpacking District later this year. The Estée Lauder Cos. subsidiary has signed a 15-year lease for an additional 10,500 square feet of space at 415 West 13th Street, which is in addition to 44,500 square feet of space in the same building the company signed for last year. Currently, the company has corporate offices at 146 East 56th St. and 551 Madison Ave. In other Bumble news, the company will throw a private book-signing party for local stylists in Cincinnati on Monday that Vidal Sassoon is expected to attend. Plans call for Sassoon to sign copies of “Hair Heroes,” a book by Bumble’s founder, Michael Gordon, featuring 12 directional stylists, including Sassoon.

LAUDER: Evelyn Lauder, senior corporate vice president of The Estée Lauder Cos., received the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising’s Doctor of Humane Letters, an honorary degree, during the school’s 64th commencement exercises at the Puck Building on Wednesday. The institute also honored Stefani Greenfield, co-owner and founder of New York-based Scoop stores, with its Distinguished Achievement Award, and Mark Simonetti, vice president of merchandising for private label at Perry Ellis, with its Alumnae Award.HARD CANDY ROCKS: Urban Decay and Hard Candy are providing the hippest celebrities and VIPs with rock ’n’ roll makeovers, manicures and pedicures at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles on May 29th and 30th. FROM BEAUTY TO BEVERAGES: Jami Morse Heidegger and husband Klaus, who sold Kiehl’s Since 1851 to L’Oréal three years ago, have gotten into the beverage industry. The couple announced that they have purchased 30 percent of BioEssentials, a functional beverage company, which has just launched a new drink called Motion Potion.

24-year-old Jean Prounis is redefining the rules of jewelry. Formerly a studio assistant to Jemima Kirke and a design apprentice at Ghuran, she focuses on handcrafted subtleties and ancient goldsmithing techniques. “There was a really sterile feel in the environment and I wanted to have jewelry with character that shapes how you wear it everyday,” Prounis said.
