Benefit’s Bachelor Party, held last Thursday in the midst of Bendel’s annual Beauty Week, wrangled in more than 500 customers vying for the hearts of five New York-based bachelors. "What better way to get girls out shopping than to have boys here?" said Benefit co-creator Jean Ford. In addition to some bachelor eye candy, customers were treated to complimentary beauty consultations, tarot card readings and several gift-with-purchase offers by participating brands. There were also guest appearances by "The Sopranos"’ Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Sports Illustrated model Petra Nemcova. By dropping their name in a box, attendees had the chance to win a dinner date at the Chambers Hotel Town restaurant with one of the bachelors. "This event has been an incredible success," said Julie Bell, marketing director for Benefit "We had a 45 percent sales increase from last year."
