ZIRH NEWS: Jacqualine Anderson has joined Zirh International as international marketing manager. She will be responsible for operational marketing and administration for Zirh’s International division. Anderson was previously brand manager for BDM Grange in New Zealand, where she managed the Guerlain, Paco Rabanne, Nina Ricci, Carolina Herrera and Escada brands. In other Zirh news, the men’s skin care brand just opened a counter in the U.K.’s Selfridges, the store’s first dedicated men’s treatment counter. To celebrate the launch, a series of special promotional travel kits will be available for each of the problem-solving categories, together with a travel bag containing 2-oz. bottles of Zirh’s six travel essentials.
TOVA FELLOWSHIP: The Sense of Smell Institute has awarded its 2002 Tova Fellowship to David Marshall, a PhD candidate in the Department of Counselor Education at the University of Florida, College of Education. The $10,000 fellowship will support work toward his thesis focusing on "Using Aroma as a Recall Cue for Biofeedback Training." The Tova Fellowship program was developed to encourage students on the graduate level to pursue a course study that will deepen the understanding of human odor perception and the positive effects of odor on human behavior.
SKIN CARE SLATKIN STYLE: Home fragrance producer Slatkin & Co. is jumping into the skin care category. The company, which markets prestige potpourri, candles and room sprays under its own label, as well as under license from Oscar de la Renta, Elton John and C.Z. Guest, plans to launch a six-to-eight-item treatment line at Neiman Marcus in the fall of 2003.
A ROSE FOR LEWIS: Kathleen Lewis has added an eighth fragrance group to her two-year-old line of eponymous bath-and-body products. The new scent family, Rose, features bath-and-body oil, soap, body lotion and candles and joins fellow flavors Lavender, Verbena, Sage, Narcissus, Good Plain (unscented), Vitamin and the popular Honey scent. The Rose collection will reach full distribution in September in Kathleen Lewis’ 50 retail stores and spas in the U.S. and 10 doors abroad.

The psychedelic fashion that pervaded the ’60s is back with an exhibit at the @museumofcityny. “Mode New York: Fashion Takes a Trip” chronicles the changing styles from 1960 through 1973 and features designers such as @ysl, @oscardelarenta and more. The exhibition, which is on display through April 1, is organized into four periods: First Lady Fasion, Youthquake, New Bohemia and New Nonchalance.
