CABOODLES DEAL PENDING: Caboodles Cosmetics may have found a buyer in its transitional chief executive officer Charles Beech. Although a deal has not yet been signed, parties are hopeful a satisfactory agreement can be reached. Plano Molding Co., the parent of Caboodles Cosmetics, put the division’s three brands — Caboodles, She She and C Me — up for sale earlier this year. Beech, who has held posts at Maybelline and Procter & Gamble, assumed management of the company in June following the departure of Gary Schofield in May.

JAY BENNETT DIES: Jay I. Bennett, who worked for Revlon from 1955 to 1991, died Sept. 30 at age 77. He was head of personnel and served on the board of directors. Funeral services were held on Oct. 2.

POLARK TO RETIRE: Roger L. Polark, senior vice president and chief financial officer of Walgreen Co. will retire on Jan. 14, the day of the company’s annual meeting. He has been with the company since 1977. William M. Rudolphsen, currently divisional vice president of accounting and controller, will replace Polark.
