LANCOME PROMOTES PARK: Lancôme has named Elizabeth Park senior vice president of marketing. In addition to her current duties of makeup and promotional marketing at the L’Oréal USA division, Park’s responsibilities now include overseeing the brand’s fragrance portfolio. After seven years at the Estée Lauder Cos., Park joined Lancôme last year as vice president of makeup marketing.

L’ORÉAL CHANGES: Marie-Paule Thauzies has been named managing director of L’Oréal’s Cacharel-Guy Laroche International unit. Thauzies has previously held positions at L’Oréal’s Vichy, La Roche Posay, Giorgio Armani Parfums and Helena Rubinstein brands. She replaces Annalisa Loustau-Elia in the post at Cacharel-Guy Laroche International. In other L’Oréal news, the company has funded the restoration of a room that was once Louis XV’s bathroom in the Chateau de Versailles. Later converted into Louis XVI’s office, the room features gilded panels depicting bathing scenes and items such as combs, ointment bottles, sponges and towels. The room’s panels, parquet and chimney piece are being renovated, as is an area that once housed a water reservoir and heater. The room will open to the public in early September after spending two years under renovation.

YSL NAMES THREE: Robert DeBaker has been appointed senior vice president of sales and marketing for Yves Saint Laurent Parfums. DeBaker’s responsibilities include the brand’s fragrance, cosmetics and skin care businesses. Also, Victoria Bluvstein has been named senior director of marketing for fragrance, reporting to DeBaker. Additionally, Laurie Kilkenny has joined YSL Beauté as regional sales director in the Northeast.

MONTENAY TO HEAD COLIPA: Françoise Montenay, president of Chanel and Bourjois, has been named president of Colipa, the European Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association. Montenay succeeds Enrique Puig, who held the position for the past three years. “A strong and intensive collaboration at a European level is more important to our industry than ever,” Montenay said in a statement. “This holds not only for multinational companies, but also for small and medium-sized companies. As new Colipa president, I am committed to contributing to a strong cooperation across our industry.” In other Colipa news, the association enlarged its European reach earlier this month by welcoming additional industry groups from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Norway and Switzerland as full members. Associations from Poland and Estonia are expected to join later this year.MARTONE’S NEW HAT: Roberto Martone, ICR Industrie Cosmetiche Riunite president and ITF managing director, has added another job title to his résumé. Martone was recently nominated as the biannual president of the Accademia del Profumo — the Italian and international beauty consortium — with a term to run from now to 2006. Founded in 1990, the Accademia del Profumo, which counts 40 international beauty companies as members, holds an awards night during the Cosmoprof trade show in Bologna to honor new fragrance launches in categories including best packaging, best advertisement and best fragrance.

GIVAUDAN MOVES: Fragrance supplier Givaudan has appointed Frédéric Pignault and Aurélien Guichard to its New York Fine Fragrance Creative Center. Pignault was named senior account executive in sales, and Guichard, a junior perfumer, was transferred from Givaudan’s Paris offices.

TWO JOIN SYMRISE: Elizabeth O’Keefe was named vice president of marketing for fragrance supplier Symrise’s fine fragrances division in North America. She most recently worked for advertising firm Publicis. Additionally, Joy Atkinson has joined Symrise as vice president of U.S. consumer product sales for the firm’s fragrance division. Atkinson was most recently with fragrance supplier Firmenich.

TAKASAGO UPGRADES: Takasago has completed a multimillion-dollar expansion and upgrade of its Singapore facilities, which serve as the fragrance supplier’s regional headquarters for Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The investment is designed to allow the production of additional product lines and enhance technical capabilities. Takasago Singapore will increase its technical staff by more than 30 percent during the next three years in order to meet the needs of the expansion.

BELMAY CHANGE: Fragrance supplier Belmay has appointed James Stiff chief financial officer. Stiff was previously vice president and chief financial officer of beverage producer Ultimate Juice Company. Prior to that, he was vice president and cfo of Covington Industries, a furniture company. In his new position, Stiff reports to Ted Kesten, chief executive officer of Belmay.
