ATLANTA — The second edition of Trafik, the edgy contemporary sportswear and premium denim show that launched this April, will run Oct. 21-23 in downtown Atlanta.
Like the spring event, the October show will run consecutively with AmericasMart's October market. The location moves from the Mason Murer art gallery in a warehouse district north of the city to an as yet undisclosed location in downtown Atlanta.
"It will be within walking distance of AmericasMart," said show director James Costa.
Trafik should have around 85 women's and men's contemporary lines, with some 30 percent in premium denim as well as a few more women's lines this time, said Costa. Trafik's organizers include Costa and four partners who also produce the Atlanta-based denim line Carpe Denim.
Costa hopes the new location, combined with more buyer outreach to contemporary and denim boutiques, will draw 500 to 600 buyers. Approximately 200 buyers attended the spring event. The show will have the same hip aesthetic that the spring show had, said Costa, with contemporary music and lighting and a party atmosphere similar to events such as the Project show in New York.
