NEW YORK — Pedestrians on West 34th Street here found a repose from the urban jungle Tuesday morning when models Heidi Klum, Ines Rivero and Bridget Hall mounted Harley-Davidson motorcycles on the sidewalk in front of the Victoria’s Secret flagship.
Perched on three hogs, the models wore patent leather stilettos, studded belts, corsets, chunky jewelry and fishnets amid a throng of TV camera crews and still photographers to show off a new limited-edition collection of lingerie dubbed Rock Angels.
The line was inspired by music stars including Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé Knowles and Christina Aguilera, according to Victoria’s Secret, singers the lingerie chain said embody the glamorized and provocative look of the collection.
There are more than 40 pieces, some of which are one of a kind. It retails from $24.50 to $1,200 and features lace-up corsets, chain mail camisoles and embellished lingerie with accents such as grommets, metal studs, silver chains, rhinestones and leather trim.
Over the next four weeks, Rock Angels will be available exclusively at the 1981 Broadway and Herald Square stores in Manhattan, at the Lincoln Road shop in Miami and the Beverly Center store in Los Angeles.
