PARIS — The City of Light moved into high gear over the weekend with a wonderful explosion of joie de mode. There were an unusual number of stellar collections, which varied in tone and content, but all had in common an upbeat feeling — a sheer delight in fashion-for-fashion’s sake. Among them: Alexander McQueen, whose show was full of such beautiful, extraordinary clothes as billowing pirate blouses, a fierce leather lace frock and the show-stopping number shown here, made of hundreds of yards of fabric in a dazzling rainbow of colors.
