Two recent Los Angeles retail projects, The Grove and Hollywood & Highland, couldn’t have netted more different results — the former won over the locals, while the latter remains in flux.

This spring, all eyes are on the $250 million Sunset Millennium project in West Hollywood, the controversial 662,820-square-foot development that will include two office buildings, shops, a spa and restaurants near Sunset Plaza. Residents in the surrounding tony ’hood protested on the grounds of traffic on the already famously congested Sunset Strip.

They might yet change their minds: Undercover and Madison — already faves among fashionistas elsewhere in town — are opening sister doors here, and New York gym Equinox has also signed on.
