Among designers, red-carpet watching is no spectator sport. It’s war. The key is cultivating loyalties early. “It” girls to get to know — and dress: Aussie looker Miranda Otto, who, after a hilarious turn in Spike Jonze’s “Human Nature,” appears in “Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers,” playing the battling lady Eowyn, a role she’ll reprise in next year’s final installment of the trilogy; Monet Mazur, a former model with a keen sense of L.A. style who always knows how to make a look her own, and Amy Adams, the star of Steven Spielberg’s hit, “Catch Me If You Can.” But catch her quick: “A year ago I couldn’t even pronounce Manolo Blahnik,” said Adams at a recent premiere.
