Now the soft-spoken 25-year-old Belgian is presenting his debut signature line in a showroom through next Thursday at 7 Rue du Perche in Paris’ Marais district.
“I want to take it slowly, at my pace,” Wijnants said.
Wijnants, whose graduating collection of feminine dresses and colorful paneled skirts earned raves, said he was inspired by a recent trip to San Francisco.
“There’s a sort of peace and love influence of San Francisco in the Seventies,” he said. “There’s also a little bit of a scout influence from a recent camping trip I took.”
Wijnants called the collection “very feminine and very wearable. The silhouettes are soft and fragile and there’s a lot of color.”
