Personal Style: "When I’m not skating, I like to dress up more than the normal person. I spend so much time in athletic clothes I try to look nice when I’m not skating. There’s not much to do in Michigan [where she trains] so my friends and I shop once or twice a week. When we go to competitions, everyone wants to have the latest clothes. It’s almost a competition off the ice. It must be a skating thing."Career Plans: "Something clicked recently. I must be getting older. Before I just wanted to skate. Now I know there are all these other things I can get into if I do well skating, like modeling."
Some Friendly Advice: "I buy a lot of stuff from Nike like stretch pants and athletic tops. But at competitions, we can’t wear basic tops. They should make different styles we can practice in. More shoe companies should look into making the boots we wear to skate in."

24-year-old Jean Prounis is redefining the rules of jewelry. Formerly a studio assistant to Jemima Kirke and a design apprentice at Ghuran, she focuses on handcrafted subtleties and ancient goldsmithing techniques. “There was a really sterile feel in the environment and I wanted to have jewelry with character that shapes how you wear it everyday,” Prounis said. Each piece is hand made in New York, either by Prounis or three other jewelers in the district. #wwdfashion
