NEW YORK -- It might have been cold and wet outside last week, but it was the start of a sunny spring for the Yves Saint Laurent boutique on Madison Avenue, where a three-day trunk show produced $200,000 in sales.

The event began with a fashion show Thursday and continued with informal modeling through Saturday.

Among the bestsellers were a black-and-white suit in linen and viscose, with lace trim, which sold seven pieces at $2,825; a white linen and viscose suit with lace trim, with five sold at $2,025, and a navy pinstripe pantsuit in lightweight wool, selling three units at $3,480.

Other hot looks were a silk floral print group and a beige and black silk African print group, and knit bike shorts.
