Fresh off her Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award win, Cornejo staged a formal runway show inspired by a John Singer Sargent painting.

But there was none of that de rigueur moody Sargent romance; rather, Cornejo mined her own cocoon shapes and simple, architectural fare for a collection that oozed urban louche.

There were dresses with subtle punk zipper accents as well as wardrobe basics offered in beautiful cuts, all of which are sure to please her art world clients.
