NEW YORK -- Gerald Zipp has left as a partner in the Patrick Group after a five-month stint.

"We just had differences in business philosophies," said Zipp, referring to Patrick Argenti, founder and principal of the dress, knitwear and sportswear firm.

Zipp would not elaborate on the differences, but said the decision was a mutual one and that he sold his one-third equity stake to Argenti.

Zipp, who became associated with Patrick in October, was president of a silk dress company called Marianna operating under the Patrick Group umbrella.

Argenti could not be reached for comment.

Before joining Patrick, Zipp spent 17 years with The Leslie Fay Cos. He left the firm last June as chairman of its Leslie Fay Dresses division.
