HIGH CLASS: The Accessories Council and Doneger Group celebrated a new educational initiative at the Fashion Institute of Technology on Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new classroom. The Doneger Group/Accessories Council Classroom will be used by FIT’s accessory design program.

The space reflects the dynamic nature of accessories design study — with movable desks, a charging cart of Macbook Air laptops, hybridized desktops that can double as digital drafting boards, scanning stations, Wacom display monitors and projection units.

The space was jointly funded by the Accessories Council Hall of Fame, which recently honored Abbey Doneger, as well as the ACE Awards Tribute Edition Journal.

Present at the ribbon cutting ceremony were FIT president Joyce Brown, Accessories Council president Karen Giberson and Doneger Group president and chief executive officer Abbey Doneger.
