CHIC AND UNIQUE: Ada Zanditon, the London-based designer known for crafting draped and sculptural designs from sustainable materials, is now set to focus her business on directional, bespoke pieces that she describes as “trans-seasonal.”
Zanditon will debut the pieces at a salon show during London Fashion Week in September. To preview the designs, Zanditon has tapped photographer Fiona Garden to shoot blogger and style writer Ella Catliff and model Eloise Chong-Gargette in two of the creations. Catliff wears a made-to-measure dress made from an ultra-soft black leather usually used to make gloves, with the fabric sourced from a social project in Ethiopia.
Zanditon said the move to design the one-off pieces came after retailers and clients were gravitating to the label for its “unique, embellished evening-wear,” as opposed to lower key designs. Zandition said she also plans to provide the means for clients at the show in September to order the creations, which are priced from 1,500 pounds, or $2,481 and rise to $5,000, or $8,270 directly from the runway. Zandition’s business also encompasses a men’s label, Ada + Nik, which she designs in collaboration with Nik Thakkar, a London-based brand strategist. Its stockists include Q Men in London, Odd in New York and LST in Munich.
