CHAMPAGNE WISHES: A slew of supermodels squeezed onto the terrace pool area at the Thompson LES hotel on Thursday evening for a summertime bash hosted by Victoria’s Secret angel Alessandra Ambrosio and Moët & Chandon’s new Ice Impérial label. Fellow mannequins Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes and Angela Lindvall mingled with Ralph Lauren model and polo star Nacho Figueras, who had been to Governor’s Island earlier in the day to prep for the weekend’s Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic. Figueras was on hand to support fellow South American Lorenzo Martone, whose Arc New York talent agency reps Ambrosio for PR and organized the fete. Ambrosio is under contract with Elite Model Management for her modeling work.
SWEET DREAMS: Norma Kamali will be launching her first line of sleepwear on walmart.com on Oct. 1. The eight-piece capsule collection is an expansion of Kamali’s exclusive lifestyle line of ready-to-wear, accessories, swimwear, activewear and children’s wear for the world’s largest retailer, which was brokered by Cherokee Inc. in 2008. The average retail will be $10 for solid and printed sleepwear items, which will also be sold at Wal-Mart stores at a later date. Sizes will range from XS to XL. Details of silhouettes and fabrics were not available. The collection will be marketed on a new Wal-Mart media platform driven by viral ads and social commerce, said a spokeswoman for the Kamali company.
