MA IN MILAN?: Jack Ma, founder of the Chinese Web giant Alibaba Group, is eyeing the acquisition of soccer team A.C. Milan, according to Italian media. Italy’s sports daily Il Corriere dello Sport claims Ma offered around 400 million euros, or $451.3 million at current exchange, for 70 percent of the team.
Former Prime Minister and media tycoon Silvio Berlusconi had been negotiating the sale of the heavily indebted club with Thai entrepreneur Bee Taechaubol, but the deal fell through earlier this year.
Ma is also a co-owner of the Guangzhou Evergrande soccer team.
