GROWING UP: After 21 years of making leather jackets with a cult following, AllSaints creative director Wil Beedle thought it high time the brand launched a handbag collection. The 48-piece collection will launch in July and retail from $350 to $498. Inspired by the brand’s archive of leather jackets, the four families of 20 styles are named after the streets surrounding the brand’s East London headquarters and come in shades including black, tan and gray. The Club bucket bag has a Whipstitch base and shoulder strap, while the fold-over Club cross-body envelope clutch has handy zip-closure sections, and the simple fleur-de-lis tote has a chain handle and an easy-access zip-up side pocket. All the styles are lightweight, as the brand wanted to focus on the “beauty of the skins, not hardware,” Beedle said.

The fall ready-to-wear collection, which was also launched at a presentation during London Fashion Week, had a new femininity to it. The nostalgic palette of gray, camel, rust and charcoal had a softness that was proof of Beedle’s ongoing evolution of the brand’s aesthetic. Silhouettes were elongated and romantic, not a word that would have been associated with AllSaints before his appointment to this role in June 2012. The men’s collection had a similar palette.
