Former president of Elie Tahari collection and C. Wonder Amy Shecter has joined CorePower Yoga as chief executive officer.
This weekend she will help the Denver-based company launch its second annual Yoga on the Rocks, a series of four Saturday morning yoga classes at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. In addition to partnering with Denver Arts & Venues for the event, CorePower Yoga will introduce an Upper Plaza marketplace thanks to a sponsorship with Whole Foods Market. There, yogis will have a chance to sample food and beverages while hanging out with friends after their class. Each of their $1 donations will go towards the Whole Planet Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at alleviating poverty by supporting 500,000 women entrepreneurs in 59 countries.
All levels will be welcomed at this year’s Yoga on the Rocks sunrise classes on July 26, August 2, August 9 and August 16 though online tickets will be doled out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Attendance will be capped at 1,600.
Schecter said, “CorePower Yoga is thrilled to offer a sunrise yoga class to nearly 2,000 people at one of the most legendary venues in the world — Red Rocks Amphitheatre. It’s an amazing hour in a surreal setting benefitting a great cause, the Whole Planet Foundation. It’s a bucket-list experience.”
CorePower Yoga is grounded in a come-one-come-all corporate philosophy as well. This week’s opening of a San Jose location marked the chain’s one hundredth location nationwide. This fall CorePower Yoga will debut a signature activewear label, according to a company spokeswoman.
