AHAlife to Donate Percentage of Sales to The Boston Police Foundation

Cofounders Shauna Mei and Matt Wilkerson, who are alumni of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, want to help the Boston community recover.

AN AHA MOMENT: As alumni of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, AHAlife’s cofounders Shauna Mei and Matt Wilkerson will donate a percentage of the site’s sales from the next 30 days to The Boston Police Foundation. The pair, who first met in an electrical engineering class on the school’s Cambridge, Mass. campus, wanted to help the Boston community recover from last week’s bombings at the Boston Marathon. Mei, a native of Inner Mongolia, China, said they wanted to support the BPF to help purchase more walkie-talkies for police officers, fund local crime-watch programs and further the group’s extracurricular activities for children. Mei said, “Obviously, the bombings hit very close to home for us.” Mei e-mailed a letter to AHAlife’s one million-plus subscribers Sunday night with an image of the city’s skyline to tell them about the initiative.
