AND THE WINNER IS…: Golden Globes week got under way this weekend with a pair of Los Angeles-area awards season annuals. On Sunday Audi threw its annual pre-Globes bash, drawing celebs like Zoe Saldana, Anne Heche, Maria Menounos and Julie Bowen, who all piled on the bling courtesy of sponsor Martin Katz. “It’s the kickoff of awards season, I’m so excited about going through the whole thing, wearing nice outfits and seeing who is going to win,” said Saldana, dressed in Jason Wu. The party also brought out nominees Thomas Jane, Johnny Galecki, Brunson Green, Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis.
“I’ll admit it, the best part is the gifting lounges, the facials, the getting dressed, I love all of that. I’m not even a girly girl and I love that,” said Davis, in Ports 1961, who is nominated for her role in “The Help.”

Davis said she didn’t have any preshow nerves. “No butterflies,” the actress said. “I will right before they read my category, but Champagne helps.”
The festivities weren’t limited to Los Angeles proper. The Palm Springs International Film Festival’s annual gala, sponsored by Cartier, doled out honors to a bevy of heavy hitters, including George Clooney, Glenn Close, Brad Pitt, Michelle Williams and Gary Oldman.
“Somebody actually just told me that Jessica Chastain is receiving an award,” Williams said on the carpet. “She and I were roommates at Williamstown at a theater festival. We were in ‘The Cherry Orchard’ together.”
Chastain, a relative newcomer, was busy taking it all in.
“I’m shocked,” the actress said. “I think someone is playing a joke on me a bit. I’m afraid I’m going to arrive and they’re going to be like, ‘Oh, no no. You don’t have an invitation.’ I can’t believe I’m going to be in a room with Glenn Close and George Clooney.”
