MARTIN’S SIMPLE JOY: When it comes to red-carpet dressing, Tony-nominated actresses often don’t get first dibs on designer gowns. “Pippin” actress Andrea Martin made that point loud and clear Sunday night when accepting the Tony for best featured actress in a musical. Standing in a one-shoulder black gown, she said, “Carmen Marc Valvo gave me this dress — nobody else would. I just want to thank him.”
Martin’s admirers can find the same draped tulle gown with 3D flower appliqué at Bergdorf Goodman and Holt Renfrew — though at $2,640 it’s not going for a song.
Meanwhile, Verdura proved to be lucky for two Tony winners Sunday night. Judith Light, who won best actress for “The Assembled Parties,” and Daryl Roth, who won best producer for “Kinky Boots,” both donned pieces from the jeweler.
