GREEN THEMED: Anne Fontaine feted her new foundation created to help save the Atlantic Forest in her native Brazil with a cocktail party Thursday night in the brand’s Rue Saint-Honoré boutique in Paris. Every year the designer plans to host a “Day of the Forest,” during which 50 percent of proceeds from her 80 stores will be donated to the Anne Fontaine Foundation that is focused on reforestation by helping local NGOs to preserve and plant 1 million trees in the next five years. The first such day will be on Oct. 20, and to help mark it, Fontaine asked German-Brazilian artist Janaina Tschäpe to create some exclusive decorations. Fontaine and Tschäpe also worked together on a few fashion pieces. Each year, a different artist who is inspired by nature and involved in recycling and the environment will be signed on for the occasion.
