Salma Hayek garnered a best-actress nomination in Spain’s Goya awards for “The Spark of Life.”

ANOTHER COUNTRY: Salma Hayek, the intoxicating voice of Kitty Softpaws in “Puss in Boots,” is being recognized for a sobering role, garnering a best-actress nomination in Spain’s Goya awards for “The Spark of Life.” The film, due to be screened at the Berlin film festival next month, is about Spain’s high unemployment, Hayek related Monday night before the Giambattista Valli couture show. “I’m a housewife, and my husband is out of a job,” she said of the role.

The actress, who is married to French fashion titan François-Henri Pinault, also just wrapped the forthcoming Oliver Stone feature “Savages,” and has signed on for more laughs, slated to play opposite Adam Sandler in “Grown Ups 2.”
