Takashi Murakami, Shu Uemura to Collaborate on Holiday Collection

The 14-stockkeeping-unit line is called Six Heart Princesses after the Japanese polar anime genre of the same name.

ANOTHER PIECE OF MY HEART: Artist Takashi Murakami is teaming up with Shu Uemura for a new color collection for the holidays. Called Six Heart Princesses after the Japanese polar anime genre of the same name, the 14-stockkeeping-unit collection includes makeup palettes, eyeliners, lip colors and more.

“I have collaborated with fashion brands [such as Louis Vuitton] in the past and I have experience extracting the culture of Japanese animation and fusing them into new products,” the artist told WWD. “Of my different works, Six Heart Princess is the one that fits best with this collaboration because it is the most animation-oriented project of my many projects. I also wanted to explore the desire of transformation by looking back to the history of princess animation.”

The lineup ranges in price from a $24 heart-and-flower festooned eyelash curler to $75 for jeweled false eyelashes. The products will be sold exclusively on beginning in November.
